I'm a bad blogger

I just don't do well with blogging on a regular basis. It seems like the older I get the less I care about being on the internet and sharing my thoughts with people that I don't know and who probably could care less what I think.
I've also noticed that I spend more time getting information the old fashioned way, magazines and newpapers and watch very little TV. Although when I do turn on the boob tube I almost always turn to one of the History or Science channels, or CNN.
A big part of the problem is that the internet just doesn't hold as much fascination as it use to, there are too many other things that are more fun and interesting than staring at a computer screen for hours on end. Plus it seems my gaming group has dissolved, with no prospects for gaming in the near future.
It is probably for the best as my family, comics books, graduate school and work take up a substantial amount of my time. I'd still love to play the occasional Pathfinder game, but unless I find some new player that seems unlikely.
Anyway I'll probably post something every now and again, probably once per month, just because I enjoy writing, but I doubt I'll go back to trying to blog regularly anytime in the near future.

I can totally understand where you are coming from on this. Maybe take some time away from your blog or change the focus of it if that will help. And yes balancing gaming, family, and work is the most important aspect.

Recently I got done with the competitive minatures playing scene. There is absolutly no competition left in my area and unfortunately a fantastic job keeps me from going to the national events. So, I just put it away and put my focus elsewhere. The funny thing is I was talking to my old gaming group and got them back into 4e.

Maybe the deal is to take some time off and focus elsewhere. Then when you get the itch there will be those to scratch it.

That's some good advice and probably exactly what I'll do. Trying to keep up with everything just gets a little overwhelming at times.
I doubt I will change the focus of this blog as I have another one I use to rant about current events or topics that just don't fit on a gaming/comics/pop culture type blog. I don't get on there much, unless I have something I really want to rant about, but I may switch my focus to that one for a while.
I'm honestly tired of trying to find people to game with. Every group I get starts out really into it, then eventually putters out. Usually it is due to jobs, or family life. Also I think it is just because we are in a small, rural community and we are all getting older. So we have limited choices for gaming groups, unless we are willing to drive a considerable distance, and it's easier to just lay down the dice.
I'm not completely done with gaming, at least I hope not, as I still really love my Pathfinder, Palladium, Mutants & Masterminds and Villains and Vigilantes books. I continue to read and buy them, though not as many as I did a year ago.
As for this blog, I think I'll probably post more about comics, movies and TV than anything else. At least for a while.
